Fishing right now seems more like post Labor Day than middle of summer with lots of bass and tuna being taken by saltwater anglers. The offshore waters have offered up healthy numbers of bluefin and yellowfin tuna while large numbers of big stripers have been moving along South Shore beaches...

Malta is involved in a European Union campaign to carry out control, inspection and surveillance of tuna fishing in the Mediterranean. Best bet: Bluefin tuna are plentiful at 30to 50 miles from shore. Yellowfin tuna are abundant in the Hudson Canyon along with some blue marlin. Striped bass are hitting calico crabs in the surf. Fluke fishing has improved.
